Blessed Beyond Words

It's 5:30 am and I"m supposed to be sleeping this morning because we have another long day on the Convention floor.  We worked for 11 hours yesterday.

But I can't sleep.  Not from stress although I could list 50 reasons why that should be the case. Not from a lousy hotel bed because my bed is actually pretty comfortable.  Not from worry.  Not from pain.

I couldn't sleep because my heart is full.  I lay in bed this morning with tears streaming down my face.  Thanking the Lord for blessing me as He did in the last two days.

Why??

Why am I sitting here crying while my roommates are snoring??

I got to meet TYLER'S MOM!!

You remember Tyler?? We yelled and screamed and hollered for him and HIS MOM CAME WALKING INTO MY BOOTH ON THURSDAY!! It took me a while to put two and two together because I am a bit slow in the uptake but when it dawned on me who she was I wanted to shout out!  THIS LADY IS GOING TO GET TYLER!!  SHE IS CROSSING THE OCEAN SOON TO GET HIM OUT!!   No they don't have a blog and yes the Lord has blessed them so that they have what they need to cross the ocean.  What a huge privilege to meet her and hug her and show off Tyler's picture to everyone in our booth.

BUT THAT IS NOT ALL....

I would have been filled to overflowing just for that encounter...

BUT ON FRIDAY... ON FRIDAY THE BLESSINGS OVERFLOWED....

Our little booth was swamped most of the morning.  Three and four deep people at times. EXHAUSTING!!  I was busy with a friend from church who was looking at the curriculum when this whole host of beautiful children and a massive triple stroller rolls up...

Baby Trend Triplet Stroller

I'm a baby lover so I immediately am looking at all the little ones in the stroller. I SEE RIGHT AWAY THAT THE TWO IN THE FRONT ARE TREASURES!!  Who is this family??

WHO ARE THESE SWEET BABES??

We're talking the sweetest family and the two most precious treasures alive!!

It was Erica Rogers and her crew!!

ERICA ROGERS??
THE FAMILY THAT IS GOING TO CROSS THE OCEAN TO RESCUE BERNADETTE BEFORE SHE AGES OUT??

THE FAMILY THAT IS GOING TO GET MASON TOO???

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!

Bernadette and Mason are from the SAME orphanage as Tyler. WE YELLED FOR BERNADETTE.  WE SCREAMED FOR A FAMILY FOR HER!!

And HERE SHE IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY BOOTH...

With two of the most precious treasures they just brought back six months ago!

CLAIRE AND MALACHI

YOU SEE THESE TWO BABES??

I GOT TO HOLD THEM!! One in each arm.

There are just no words.

I wanted to walk around that Convention hall.  I wanted to show them to everyone there.  I wanted to SCREAM AND SHOUT and tell people that I KNOW WHERE THEY WOULD HAVE ENDED UP IF THEY HAD BEEN LEFT BEHIND.   Oh My Goodness they are precious.  Happy.  Healthy.  Full of smiles.  Joy just bursts from these two babes.

DO YOU SEE PEOPLE??  DO YOU SEE??

Come on church.  This is what is important.

BERNADETTE'S FAMILY.

MASON'S FAMILY.

TYLER'S FAMILY.

All from the same orphanage.

All soon to be crossing the ocean.

No, the Rogers are NOT FUNDED.  They are still 11,000 short and they are struggling.  Rescuing 4 children in one year is HARD.

BUT THIS FAMILY IS AMAZING.

Yes they have a LOT of kids but people - those kids were so calm and well-behaved.  I was amazed at all of them. I got to lavish love on not just Claire and Malachi but I got to kiss and hug every one of the kids.  They came by twice.  Two times yesterday I was blessed beyond words.

IF I COULD WRITE THE ROGERS A CHECK TO FUND THEIR ADOPTION I WOULD DO IT IN A HEARTBEAT FOR HOW MUCH THEY BLESSED ME YESTERDAY.

I am sitting here with tears still streaming.  To hold such precious treasures.  To KNOW that Bernadette and Mason are going to be lavished with love and care.

To see with my own eyes how much love transforms.

To be blessed like that... WOULD THAT I COULD BLESS THEM BACK!!

I would write them a check if I could.

They are getting two more treasures to add to their family.

THEIR BLOG IS HERE.  You can bless them HERE.

Erica did take a few pictures of me holding the babes.  I don't know if they came out.  I left my camera at home.  I will treasure those pictures even if I look horrid.  I can't put into words how grateful I am to know that Claire and Malachi will never see the inside of a mental institute.  I just can't put it into words.

Please consider blessing them.

Please!!!

  1. They came and stayed with us a couple of months back and Marty (my husband) said, "Did you really just invite a family with 7 kids to come and stay at our house?" Yes, I did! They are so well-behaved and so loving and kind. It was a blessing to have them visit and I'm praying we didn't scare them away. Marty said, "They can come back anytime." I love this family and I agree, I'd write the check, today, if I could. God has a plan, though! Bernadette and Mason are coming HOME. Will the Church be a part of making that happen? I think, we will :) So glad you got to meet them and love on the kids, all of them are wonderful! Love you, friend!

  3. I too prayed for those beautiful babies when the Rogers family was in the process to bring them home. Something about Malachi(Oscar)touched my heart. I have a deep love for little boys. I am donating now and will continue to do so until they have enough. I can't do it all but I sure can help! You are so lucky to have met this precious family. My prayers are with them as they go on another adventure to bring home 2 more treasures.

  4. We've too been so blessed to get to know the Rogers family--our kids love them like family :) Our sweet daughters have been trying to raise funds for them on their website (www.laciesbracelets.blogspot.com)--so far I think they've raised about $90 and they hope to raise more. We're planning to have a joint yardsale on June 23rd in S. Stafford to benefit them if any other local Virginia people are interested you can email me (sdadamsons@gmail.com)
Its always a great blessing to get to meet these RR kids and families you learn about and pray for....so glad you've gotten to meet them and others. We hope to meet your precious family too one day soon!
