Three Families

Isaiah 1:17
Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow.

We prayed for families.  Begged God.  Raised money.  Put their faces out there time and time again.

And God heard.  And families stepped up.

Remember?

My Family Found Me!

 Remember?

Our Family Found Us!

My Family Found Me
Jesus Took Me Home!

Their Mamas and Papas are going to be sitting at our table.

They are the answers to our prayers.

They heard the Holy Spirit whispering in their hearts and they responded.

Each with their own story.

The Baker family adopting Emmitt.  They have adopted six children  - their most recent in January.

They had NO intention of going back out so quickly.... But they were blindsided at Christmas when we were yelling for Emmitt.  One look at his picture and they fell to their knees.

The Taylor family adopting Samuel and Sara.  They too have adopted several children.

They too were blindsided on a certain after Thanksgiving Story when they saw the pictures of Samuel and Sara.  Black Friday will forever have new meaning for them.

And then there is the Marr Family.

They too know all about adoption. Their home is filled with chosen children.

They too were blindsided by a picture.

They too fell to their knees.

Jonathan was chosen.  Loved.  Cherish.

Their arms feel empty as they walk through their days longing to hold the child who is now in the arms of their Savior.

Their grief right now over Jonathan crumbles me.

Yet they are choosing to faithfully move ahead even though they have no idea where the road is  going to take them.

And we are moving ahead with them because NO MATTER WHAT CHILD they bring to our table - we will welcome him or her with open arms.

Three families.

I weep to write those words.

These families humble me.

They keep finding room at their table.

They are the answers to my prayers for these children.

They are the answers to many of our prayers.

Four children will cross the ocean because they faithfully answered the call.

They are doing what is right - defending the oppressed - taking up the cause of the fatherless..

THANKS BE TO GOD!

THANKS BE TO GOD!
