Home. Yes.

I'm home.

Sitting here in my pj's enjoying my family.  We took this picture right before I left and I had it on my screen to look at while I was gone.  Honestly, seeing them in person is much better than a picture - no matter how good the picture!!

Ben's birthday is today.  19.  I'm so grateful to be home in time to give him some birthday love!!

Yesterday traveling with three newly adopted orphans was quite the experience.

We met Nicole Dewberry in the airport. Stay tuned for a blogpost about Nicole's boy she is adopting.  Oh My Goodness he stole my heart!!

Nicole is a bit of a nutcase.

She brings out the nutcase in me...

This is the only "good" picture I have with these three precious treasures.

It is rather fitting that Yana is screaming in the picture.

She screamed every single time I touched her.  I've been told I am good with kids..... Someone forgot to send Yana that memo!

Yana spent the majority of our traveling time in scream mode.  I don't blame her.  In a week's time she rode a 16 hour train, was with people she barely knew, ate strange food, was dragged from here to there, slept in a strange bed and then was forced to fly on two planes to get to a world where she will eventually feel safe and secure.  Leo cried a good bit on the planes too.  He cries quietly which tends to be even more heartbreaking than Yana's screams.  Poor little boy encountered an automatic flush toilet inside the airport and it terrorized him.  He went to pieces each time we tried to take him to the bathroom after that.  Vika was nervous beyond words to be going to America with its strange language and customs.

Pray for these three babes as they adjust to their new world.  I'm seriously going to miss them terribly!

It was a GOOD time with Carla.

We shared precious memories as we carried her babes out.

It was sweet beyond words....

Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support and encouragement.

I'm not done sharing...

But I am taking a few days to adjust to this side of the ocean....

Peace.

  3. Home and PJs sound lovely. Being with your kiddo on his birthday sounds even better.

Yana seems to have bonded with her mom. I made this deduction based on pictures, so even though she did not bond with you, I suppose that is a very good thing.

You give of yourself tirelessly for others and I just want to say you are prayed for many a time by people you don't know. I also wanted to say Thank You. For having the heart, courage and compassion to go places and do things that many of us cannot or are not willing to do.

God bless you and yours abundantly this season and the years to come.

  5. Rejoicing with the Dobrovitis family and praising God for all of the details of your trip. I, and all of your readers, will be grateful to read and to learn from all that you have to share, when you are ready and able to. God bless you as you rest and reconnect with your family.
