Pockets Full of Candy

When you yell and holler on a blog...

Sometimes It is really really nice to be able to wrap between your arms... two of the ones you yelled and hollered for...

Meet Ira (Estelle) and Rostik (Gerard) Deutsch.....

I had the awesome privilege of meeting them this weekend at the Virginia HEAV Homeschooling Convention.  Since they are older they were able to wander the convention hall on their own.  That meant that throughout the days of the convention, they kept popping into my little booth to fill their pockets with my candy and talk to me and show me what they had acquired from the other booths and play jokes on me and let me know that YELLOW is IN and let me hug them over and over and over again.  PURE JOY!! They are so funny and full of energy and talkative and happy and I know they are a handful but totally worth all the work and the prayers and the time and energy it took to get them.

It was so cool to have them standing at my booth when Gwen Smith was there meeting them.

She is their hero!!

I shared the story HERE over a year and a half ago but it is worth repeating!!

GWEN'S STORY..
--------------------------------

"You think what we do for the Least of These doesn't matter??

Think again...

A mom who is unable to adopt at this time has a blog.  She uses that blog to advocate for the Reece's Rainbow kids.  It doesn't have a huge following. It isn't a major blog at all.  But she is faithful.  She shares her heart.  She shares about the kids.  She prays.  She has the blog linked to her e-mail address so every single time she sends an e-mail... she is also sending a connection to her blog.

So one day... just recently... she sends an e-mail to a friend.  Not about adopting.  Not about RR kids. It was about homeschooling.  Homeschooling. Just an e-mail with some information about homeschooling.  That friend forwarded the information to another friend.  THAT FRIEND read the e-mail AND HAPPENED TO NOTICE THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM.

She clicked the link.

She was confronted with the plight of the orphans in Eastern Europe and Asia.

Her heart broke.  She and her daughter sat and scrolled through picture after picture.  Their hearts broken.  The Holy Spirit whispering to them as they looked.  When her husband came home they showed him what broke their hearts and his too broke.

Because a mom was faithful.

Because God uses whatever we offer for HIS GLORY AND HIS PURPOSE."

And the two kids the family brought home... Gerard and Estelle.

Ira and Rostik Deutsch

And on Saturday.... Gwen stood outside my little booth with those two candy-loving kids!!

Wow!!!

THANK YOU GWEN!!

You see if it had not been for her faithful yelling... Just a simple mom with a simple blog yelling out a simple message.... I would not have had the privilege of having those two filling their pockets with the candy from my booth!!

I would have missed out on the hugs...

and their utter goofiness!!

I would have missed out on THIS!

I would have missed out on such an awe-inspiring story!

THOSE TWO TOTALLY MADE MY WEEKEND.

God is so so good!!

I also was blessed to meet Penny and Fanny Huizinga who just came home a few months ago.  I didn't get to take pictures but I got to spend some wonderful talk time with their mom who is another of my heroes!

And while I am sharing about RR babes I have seen recently...

Back in North Carolina two weeks ago I got to hold THIS PRECIOUS RR treasure!

I TRIED to talk his Mama into letting me keep him..

She said NO!

Dang.
