One of our church members also sang it as a dedicatory song (not knowing how much I like it!) just before I went to Romania in 2004. I haven't heard it in a long time, but it is one of my favorites!

Another long-time favorite of mine, that I learned in high school, though not written with International Special Needs adoption in mind, seems to fit here, too:

Ask Not to Be Excused

Ask not to be excused,
There's earnest work to do;
Stand ready to be used
Where God may station you. His invitation kind
To thee has oft been giv'n
Accept and thou shalt find
Tis sweet to work for heaven.

Refrain:
Come, O come,
Ask not to be excused;
Come, O come,
Stand ready to be used.
Ask not to be excused,
This answer may be give'n:
Thou hast My love abused,
Thou art excused from heav'n.

Ask not to be excused,
The Master calls today;
Too long hast thou refused;
Now hasten to obey.
The harvest fields are white,
The laborers are few;
Let this be thy delight,
The Master's work to do.

Ask not to be excused,
There's danger in delay;
That wondrous love abused,
Forever turns away.
While mercy gently pleads
And points the way to heav'n,
While Jesus intercedes,
O come and be forgiv'n.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07361872687544481018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7297657180254499319.post-75507623381767222532013-07-08T16:29:22.834-04:002013-07-08T16:29:22.834-04:00Absolutely LOVE this post and God whispers.
