Of course we don't get the easy court. Breaking into a new region - opening doors for other boys means that each step is only a baby step. Our court is a baby step. It is a preliminary court. The 'real' court will be a week (hopefully) from the first court. So we actually have two courts. It is not ideal. It is not normal. It means a longer stay in country. It means added stress as we wait for the 2nd court but the mountain is melting. We stand in awe. We have to continue to trust - taking each step as we go. On the day Rob and I were married, as we walked down the aisle and out of the church, after our vows were made, one of our favorite songs from one of our favorite Christian artists, Rich Mullins, played in the background. Step By Step. Over 17 years later - we are still playing out the words to that song.
STEP BY STEP
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days
Yay yay yay Julia!!! I am so excited for you all! That is wonderful news. I'm almost in tears reading this amazing news! We are still praying for you all and can't wait till the day you get to take Aaron out of the institution forever! So glad you will be back here soon!
ReplyDeleteYEA for you! Yea for Aaron!
ReplyDeleteBring LOADS of pictures of your family.... AND loads of pictures of your interactions with Aaron for the witnesses to look at while you are having court. :)
It "humanizes" you and your family to them.
Show them to anybody who will look.
What an awesome blessing to be able to part the waters for those who come behind. :)
So glad to hear that court has been scheduled. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so very happy to read this!!! Thank you God! Praying that the time goes quickly and that you know God's presence with you every step of the way. Praying for your family as you go - and that you come home soon with Aaron!

ReplyDeleteSo happy for you all, but mostly Aaron!!!!
Praise God! I pray that God would prepare your hearts in the days of waiting, so that when you appear in court, you will know exactly WHAT to say. May He also prepare place for you to stay to fir your budget. I know that song of Rich Mullins- love it and thanks for the reminder. Can't wait for you to be united with your boy, who by the way, looks very much like his new mom.

ReplyDeleteYou do not need to publish this comment but I don't know how to email you. We have something for Aaron, if you are interested. I took a picture of it, I can send if you'd like. It's nothing big, just a pillow sham - it's Thomas the Tank Engine embellished with the name "Aaron" in buttons, quite cute if you ask me. It was made for my Aaron who is now 10 and far outgrown Thomas. :) If you'd like it I'd love to send it for him but PLEASE feel completely confident in saying "no thanks!"
ReplyDeleteThank you Jesus! That will fly by!
ReplyDeleteMichelle - We would LOVE it!! I'm a big Thomas fan....

YAY!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! We had a preliminary and secondary as well. According to our judge they have to give the local inspector's office 5-7 working days notice to appear in court for final hearing, that's why the delay. If your inspector's office can accommodate sooner they usually do. :)
ReplyDeleteBaby steps! August is a hard time to be in Ukraine. Praying for you, for strength and peace!
