Home and We Are Crazy

WE ARE HOME!!

Our house has no power.  It is cold here!

Our littlest is a bit in a daze.

The last few days have been HARD and he's struggling emotionally and physically right now.

So we are going for keeping him happy - POP TARTS FOR BREAKFAST...

AND promises of ipads, videos, teacher's visiting and comfy couches.

A dimpleless smile is better than none at all and at this point I'll take anything!

It is going to be a LONG four weeks for this little guy.  Normally after getting the eight-plate surgery, they encourage walking on the casts in order to stretch the knees as much as possible.  Same for the tendon releases in his hips.

But because Aaron had the surgery on his arm - and because the risk of falling is too great - they only want him standing on his feet with minimal walking and only if assisted.

On top of that hardship - Because of his arm and the casts... Aaron can't lay in his favorite position on the floor (he lays on his left arm and plays with his right arm).  THAT IS THE HARSHEST REALITY OF THEM ALL.  When Aaron tried to play with his cars last night and realized that he doesn't have his feet and he can't position himself to play with his one good hand.... Oh my gracious...

We are going to be scrambling to find creative things he can do with such limited mobility!

IT IS GOING TO BE A LONG FOUR WEEKS FOR OUR LITTLE GUY!!

Here's the deal.

We are powerless (literally), recovering from a hard week and definitely exhausted.

Aaron is in shock and grieving his loss.

I have a homeschool convention in South Carolina I am going to next week which just wears me out even thinking about it at this point.

Conventional wisdom would say that we need to rest, relax and take it easy.

Funny how God works.

When you are screaming for calm and know that the next weeks are going to be anything but calm... It is then when He begins that whispering in our hearts that He wants us to do something....

I've been getting that whispering for weeks now.

I've been fussing and fuming about it.

NOW is NOT a good time THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

But this week - in the midst of the craziness - we both resigned ourselves to the reality that we need to act.  And once I did the Lord just blessed me with peace and confirmation from several different directions.

So we are stepping out in faith...

Because it is never ever about us.

The worst time is always the BEST time in God's economy.

So for all those who have asked...

WE ARE DOING ANOTHER MULLIGAN STEW.

The Lord is already setting the table.

Our Lost Boys, some strays from a year ago, many new faces, some very needy families... they are all being invited.

We just need a whole host of items for our stew pot.

Right now it is pretty empty.

If you have something you want  to drop in for a tableful of needy orphans and families....

PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP!!

I'm doing this as simply as I can this year.

If you want to donate an item - BIG OR SMALL - just let me know what you are donating - send a picture and you will mail it to the winner!

I will be sharing over the coming days who is going to be sitting at our table.

PLEASE BE GENEROUS.

The need is great this year!

My e-mail is covenantb@yahoo.com
