For this Fourth of July..... We present.... Aaron's proudest accomplishment......
How's that???
P.S. - Aaron has NOT mastered swimming and he is actually quite dangerous in the water. Because he has little use of his arms and has range of motion issues in his knees, he has not figured out a way to get his feet underneath him when he is in a floating position. He LOVES the water and loves going under the water but we do have to watch him carefully because once his feet go out from under him, he is unable to right himself. It scares this Mama a bit silly! He is getting swimming lessons from a wonderful swim team coach who has been incredible at figuring out how best to teach Aaron. He absolutely loves her. She has taught hundreds of children how to swim but none quite like Aaron. We appreciate that she has been willing to consult with others on how best to teach Aaron. What he is doing in the water under her direction is exciting both for Aaron and for us.
oh my word...I absolutely love that last photo!!! Nothing better than a kid in the water!! And his smile is so infectious...! God is good!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, big guy!!
ReplyDeleteAlso just read yesterday's post. Left me teary-eyed, Julia.
What a wonderful post to share on 4th of July when we celebrate our freedom. Here Aaron is everyday learning new things because of the freedom he has found. Oh how my heart still aches for all those not free but watching Aaron overcome obstacles brings my heart such joy. Thank you so much for sharing his journey.
ReplyDeleteYou show'em, Aaron. I know grownups who are more afraid of the water than you, so I think what you have accomplished in such a short amount of time it SUPER awesome! Much love from so very far away. Happy 4th, y'all!
ReplyDeleteYay, Aaron! I love his proud big smile, so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThank you Julia!! As always, you've blessed my heart ♥ :)

Oh how neat! I am so glad he gets to enjoy being in the water and learning swim lessons! So glad you found a good teacher that he loves! What a blessing to see him having such fun and being so proud of his accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable and I look forward to each and every picture! Happy Independence Day to the Nalle family :)
ReplyDeleteMy kids are on a different team this summer and I so regret that I won't see Aaron in action at the CF pool. He is in really good hands there. Best wishes.
