Tomorrow, we begin.
Tomorrow, you get to take part in our Mulligan Stew Giveaway.
I am almost finished sharing the names and faces of the children our Mulligan Stew will help feed.
I just have a few more precious kids to add-- a few more place settings and chairs to squeeze in around our table.
Victoria and Igor both live in the same sad mental institution. They both have arthrogryposis, the same stiff joint condition that our Aaron has. And they both break my heart. Even though we already have SO MANY needy children on our list, I just could not leave these two out. Neither has much of anything in the way of grant money (Please help me change that!), and both just desperately need to get out of that place!
These are two kids with HUGE potential who will waste their entire lifetimes in mental institutions unless someone has mercy on them and steps up to adopt them. I just can't bear the thought that they might live out their entire lives like our Lost Boys.
Emmitt
Poor, sweet Emmitt, passed by year after year. Still pictured sitting in a crib, even though he's the same age as my Elijah-- 14 years old. Emmit has spent his entire life stuck in cribs like this. He has been described as smart, funny, talkative and desperately seeking attention. I'll bet that if someone asked him to name the deepest desire of his heart, he would not name riches, fine clothes or video games. I'll bet he would ask for a family. Someone to love him. Someone to call him son, a Mama to cradle him in her arms. He is not too disabled to be loved, nor is he too old to be part of a family.
The mere inability to walk shouldn't condemn Victoria, Igor and Emmitt to live out their lives as abandoned captives in dreary, underfunded mental institutions. Unfortunately, unless someone intervenes to help them, that is exactly what will happen to them. We just can't let that happen. We have to find room for these three precious treasures at our table.
So, now that we rearranged our table to make room for precious Emmitt, Igor and Victoria....
Starting tomorrow, all of these orphans and their families are going to be fed-- by YOU. Through donations and through prayer. As the Lord leads, you are going to take part in the Lord's work by sharing what the Lord has given you with the "least of these," his children.

The Lost Boys
"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
'Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
'The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"
Thank you, Julia. The table is set. Now we wait for the Lord to start filling the plates through us.

Yay!!! Thank you SOOO much for adding my dear Emmitt and Victoria to your table! I'm so glad Igor is included too! I pray there will be great success and many funds will be raised to help these children and that they will get families soon!
ReplyDeletethank you so much for making room for the last three! I have been praying for Victoria and Emmitt for two years now! Now that Igor is in the same institution as Victoria he is on my prayer list too. It is time for all three to find their families! Praying with you!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit; seeing all of the faces....I see why you are nervous :) Your efforts will not be wasted, though. Stay strong for the good you are doing!
