The Fish Tale

GUESS WHO IS GOING SWIMMING TODAY??

Okay.. Kayaking counts too...

Ready to show off his fancy swimming moves...

OH NO.... THERE ARE FISHIES IN THIS LAKE!!!

NOPE... WE ARE NOT GETTING IN THAT WATER!!

Even if you promise that those fishies will NOT eat our toes....

We are OUT OF HERE!!

Hey....Don't leave me alone with these fishies!!

Playing in the sand is just as good as swimming in that fishie-infested lake!!

After a hard day of NOT swimming.....

Little Stinker!

-----------------------------------

We had a good trip to Shriner's on Monday.  Aaron was fitted for new braces as he is growing like a weed. This will be his 3rd set of braces in a little over a year.  We also decided to bite the bullet and have agreed to put Aaron on the surgery schedule for his knees and hips.  In a simple nutshell - his knees and hips do not allow him to straighten fully which means that Aaron is forced to stand in a constant bent position.  If you try standing in a crouch for any length of time you will understand why we are choosing to go the surgical route.  It is exhausting on your body and back to not be able to stand up straight.  Aaron is only off in his knees by about 15 degrees but those 15 degrees tire him out greatly when he has to walk or stand for any length of time or distance.  So - we are facing surgery in the coming year.  As we get closer to the date I will explain exactly what they will be doing.

Until then we are going to enjoy a surgery-free Fall!!

  1. I agree 100% with Aaron. NO SWIMMING WITH FISHES!! I pray the surgery will go smoothly. I know it must be scary, but you are making the right choice for your son!

  2. I understand the need for surgery. Before bilateral total knee replacement 11 years ago after both knees wore out, my posture was bent. This took a toll on my back. It may be a temporary ordeal for him and for you but if it improves his ability to stand and walk it will be a great reward. It is a joy to see Aaron enjoying being loved, cared for and being an all-round boy!
