Last night 26 pillows lay empty.
I don't have anything profound to say. My heart bleeds for the families.
We live in a fallen, sinful world.
Come, Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel’s Strength and Consolation,
Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear Desire of every nation,
Joy of every longing heart.
Born Thy people to deliver,
Born a child and yet a King,
Born to reign in us forever,
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring.
By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone;
By Thine all sufficient merit,
Raise us to Thy glorious throne.
Haggai 2:6-7 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Aaron has had a mild cold this week. Last night it stopped being mild. I listened to him coughing through the night. I would have pulled him into bed with me except that I don't want my sweet babe to get what I have. I gave him medicine for the coughing but it wasn't easing it and though I knew he was sleeping, it hurt to hear him hacking away through the night.
What really broke my heart though was to hear him grinding his teeth. He only does it when he is upset or not feeling well. Last night qualified. I lay and listened to my child grind his teeth for hours. He not only ground his teeth but he banged them against each other over and over and over again. Poor babe was miserable and it was his way of comforting himself. It is one of the many things that children in orphanages do to comfort themselves in their cribs. They lay and grind their teeth and violently rock back and forth and bang their heads against their crib rails.
They grind their teeth for comfort.
They rock themselves for comfort.
They bang their heads for comfort.
We live in a fallen and sinful world.
Come Quickly Lord Jesus!
Today is the last day for the Giveaway.
Yesterday, before the tragedy in Connecticut, I challenged us to get the bottom 85 babes over the 300 wall. Despite the news, quite a number of you responded and 40 children went over that wall. That leaves 45.
I don't want to give up on that goal. These kids live tragedy every day of their lives.
I grieve for the families in Connecticut, but I also grieve for the babies who are laying in cribs grinding their teeth down to nibs.
The Angel Tree is over on December 31st. There are far too many babes who are not even close to the 1,000 goal. Getting 45 to the 300 mark is a tiny step to getting all the babes over the 1,000 wall.
On this last day of the Giveaway - You only need to give to ONE. 10 dollars or more to ONE child to help them climb the wall.
I don't care which child.
Just give.
JUST GIVE.

Today is Advent III. Our prayer is that someone has the courage...to answer the call from voice in the wilderness...and take the way untrod.
There's a voice in the wilderness crying,
a call from the way untrod:
I'm a day late but I donated anyways. Thanks for all you do Julia to PASSIONATELY advocate for all these precious children. I'm so glad all your little ones made it over the wall. Praying you and Aaron feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI donated $35 to Ekaterina...there's just something about her face.
ReplyDeleteThe tooth grinding can be so upsetting. I am wondering if you ever asked the dentist about a night guard to help out. I am late for this but will try to make a donation.
