Love's Redeeming Work

Yesterday Ben and Elijah and I were working on this cool project they were doing for their college Humanities class (I'll share another day) and Rob was playing the guitar and working on the worship songs for church today.

As we were knee deep in the project.... He's singing "Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia."

The words of the hymns and songs were floating over our ears as we talked and laughed.

Words of truth - words of hope....

"Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
But fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to Him who showed great love."

Did you read that??

Please go back and read that.  Take a few minutes and consider those words.

There is no shame in Christ.  He stormed the gates of hell and won.  Death could not hold him back.

Our sins have been taken care of.

Past. Present. Future.

I stand before the Lord of the Universe clean.  Forgiven.

"Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He:
'Full Atonement' can it be?
HALLELUJAH!  WHAT A SAVIOR!

If you are reading this and feel like you will never be good enough to stand before the Lord.

Think again.

You don't have to be good enough.

I'm not.

I have had a horrid week.  My temper has flared over and over again.  I've sinned against every member of my family this week with my impatience and attitude.

I stand before the Lord clean.  Forgiven.

I am clean before Holy God because Christ took care of my sins on the cross.

Plain and simple.

HE IS RISEN.

JUST LIKE HE SAID.

Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

If there is anyone reading this blog who does not know my Savior... I would love more than anything else to introduce you to Him.

  1. LOVE. Praise God that no matter what we do, or don't do, nothing can stop His love.

  2. We sang that song this morning. Praise the Lord He is risen!! I remember the overwhelming gratitude when I realized the full measure of God's forgiveness. I had misunderstood as a child and thought that only the sins that I acknowledged and asked for forgiveness for would be forgiven. I greatly feared dying quickly, like in an accident, and not having a chance to ask for forgiveness for whatever I may have done wrong up to that point. When I understood the truth, joy and relief flooded over me.

  3. Thank you, I had a really horrible day that left me feeling lower than low, so discouraged and unworthy. I needed this reminder so much!
