Prayers for John

I'm a bit of a wreck this morning.

This little guy is going in for surgery tomorrow morning.

He's getting his tethered cord de-tethered. There are risks.  I'm trying not to think about them.

I'm sitting here alternating between praying and worrying.

He will be in the hospital for around 4 days. Aaron is going to be LONELY without his best buddy beside him!

They are pretty inseparable.

And doing an exceptionally great job at keeping Rob and me YOUNG!!

Young and crazy!!

Aaron is going to miss his best buddy these next few days!!

Wherever you find the one... you are almost certainly going to find the other!

We would MOST DEFINITELY appreciate prayers for our sweet John tomorrow and in the coming weeks.

I will be posting on here and on Facebook updates about his surgery and recovery so stay tuned.

While I am hanging out at the hospital I will still be hoping and praying for the boxes of love.

To all you who have given .... THANK YOU!!

I won't be able to do much more than watch and pray.  Please don't forget these boys.  We still have such a long ways to go to get their matching grants met.

My heart is grieved because Isolde aged out. I just can't bear the thought of her spending her days without a family.  Micah has only a few weeks left.  Alex just a month. Who will hear the call??

I am more than willing to take people willing to donate MORE than $10.00 to remove even more boxes.

I'm not picky.

We have $2,111.00 left to raise.

Please give whatever you can and leave me a comment or send me an e-mail (covenantb@yahoo.com) to let me know you gave.  Those who have given already are already in the drawing for the prints.

Transferred to Die

When they arrived in June 2014 they were in pitiful condition.  Tiny.  Wasting away.

Everyone there was shocked to see them.

They were both five years old but the size of tiny babies.

The truth: They shouldn't be alive.

The two wee ones in that isolation building.

They should not be alive.

They couldn't feed themselves. They couldn't care for themselves. They needed help sitting up.  They needed help doing anything. They were helpless.  They were completely and totally helpless.

They were transferred to that isolation ward out in the middle of nowhere to do what children in their condition all over that country do when they are transferred.  They were transferred to die.

They were barely hanging on in the baby house where they were fed with bottles a few times a day and left neglected in their cribs all day and all night.

They were transferred to an institute where bottle feeding two babies was a feat two over-worked caretakers of 22 boys could not begin to do.

They were not expected to make it.

They were just throw away babies.

But God had prepared a way for these two throw away babes.

They didn't arrive just to die.

God had opened the door for ministry teams in that far away place long before these two wee ones arrived. Those teams began to move on their behalf almost as soon as they arrived.

The biggest gift to these two wee ones was financial provisions for a nanny to care just for them.

For 12 hours every day someone tenderly watches over these two lambs.  They are lovingly washed and fed and dressed.  They are the only 2 boys in that entire building who get to go out for walks.

When they arrived they were quiet and still. They rarely cried.  They had spent five years living in a world of total neglect. After only a few weeks with someone caring just for them they began to respond.  If the nanny had one in her arms the other would fuss.

With love and care the bigger one, Isaiahu began to put on weight.  The more attention he received, the more his bubbling personality began to emerge.

The smaller one, Ben, struggled.  Because of severe reflux issues, his stomach could only handle tiny bits of food at a time.

It took a medical team visiting the institute to figure out a formula they could use that Ben could keep down.  Though he has improved from those first days in June 2014, he is the more fragile of the two.

They have been there a little over a year now.  They continue to live in an isolation ward far out in the middle of nowhere. They still have a nanny caring for them 12 hours a day.  The other 12 hours of the day they are locked inside their room to keep them safe from the roaming boys.  Two little boys.  Alone in a room in their cribs for 12 hours of each day.

They are doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances.

Isaiahu is the very definition of joy.

He soaks in love.

Ben is the solemn one.

Teeny tiny and oh so fragile.

Both wee ones desperately.... desperately in need of families!

Please Dear Mama, come get your boys!!

They may be six in age but in reality they are tiny babes!

We still have a LONG way to go for their $1,000 matching grants.

We still need 237 more people willing to give $10.00 to remove a box of love.

Boxes of Love

 They are boxes of love.

268 of them.

Each box worth just $10.00.

That's it.

I need 268 people willing to donate $10.00 each to help clear out the boxes for these four boys.

Because we have 4 matching grants, every $10.00 is actually $20.00.

Every $10.00 is a gift of love to a child who is voiceless.

Every $10.00 is a donation to a future family who will count each gift as a priceless treasure.

Every $10.00 donation will reveal the portraits behind the boxes.

Each portrait was lovingly drawn by a young girl who wanted to do something to help raise money for these boys.

They are beautiful portraits.

They were hand drawn on wood.

Did I say a young girl drew them?

They blew me away when I saw them.

I want to share them with you.

I want you to see her work.

When we have revealed all four pictures I want you to see ALL of the portraits she drew.  These are just four of them.

She was given a large collection of pictures of the boys locked away in the isolation ward and she created portraits from each of the pictures.  The collection is unbelievable. When I saw the portraits I was blown away by how well she captured the boys.

She's just a young girl who took the talent God gave her and did something beautiful with it.

I want to share her work with you.

I'm also going to give away four professionally done prints from four of the portraits she did.  Winners will get to choose which portrait they want printed.

I just need 268 people willing to donate $10.00 to remove a box of love.

I am more than willing to take people willing to donate MORE than $10.00 to remove even more boxes.

I'm not picky.

We have $2,674.50 left to raise.

I have some beautiful prints I am giving away when we are done.

Please give whatever you can and leave me a comment or send me an e-mail (covenantb@yahoo.com) to let me know you gave.  Those who have given already are already in the drawing for the prints.
