Turning 50

Turning 50 means I may need help crossing the street....

And when I get one of these applications in the mail... I can actually fill it out.

It means that breakfast doesn't just consist of eggs and toast...

And my glasses will soon have to have three levels instead of just one!

Turning 50 means that people won't be able to tell me that I need to grow up..

Because I am now over the hill!

Turning 50 means being reminded by my kids that I have more gray hairs than blonde....

and that once I bite the dust they will get to inherit all my stuff!

Turning 50 means that I'll have to be creative in order to keep up with my kids...

And I only get one candle to blow out on my cake...

But at least its not this candle!!

Turning 50 doesn't mean that the good times are over....

Because God has blessed me with an amazing husband and three wonderful sons...

.....What more could an old lady want????

Laurel!!!!

LAUREL HAS A FAMILY!!!

LAUREL HAS A FAMILY!!!

LAUREL HAS A FAMILY!!

OH PRAISE JESUS - LAUREL HAS A FAMILY!!

THANK YOU JESUS!!!

MY BIRTHDAY WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED!!!

THANK YOU LORD!!

Fatherless Friday

THANK YOU THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THE SPITZ'S FAMILY!! They have what they need to send their paperwork off TODAY.... They are still about 4,000.00 short for their overall adoption costs. Go HERE if you haven't donated yet...

For this FATHERLESS FRIDAY... I am reminding you about our Passed Over Babes....

Please LOOK at them.... Please don't Pass them Over!!

Look at this boy!!

THAT SMILING BOY IN THE TOO-BIG CLOTHES IS OUR BRENT!!

HE HAS $10,083.05 IN HIS GRANT ACCOUNT.

That is almost HALF of what it costs to adopt.

Someone please cross that ocean and dress that smiling precious boy in some clothes that fit!!!!

WHERE IS HIS MAMA???

AND PRECIOUS HEATH...

He has $6,395.94 in his grant account.  I'm so tired of this ONE picture.... I kick myself every day that I wasn't brave enough to risk taking another shot of him.  I'm so weary of seeing that boy forever sitting in that chair.  I wish you could see him in his shared wheelchair... or sitting in the dirt playing with a dirty string.  Oh Dear Lord - I want to see him carried out of those green gates more than words can say!!

AND MY LAUREL...

BREAK MY HEART LAUREL...

She has $12,978.01 available for her adoption.  THAT IS OVER HALF OF WHAT IT WILL COST!!  There just has to be a family out there for Laurel.  It is all I want for my birthday.  For someone - somewhere to step up and say there is room at their table for Laurel.

And Poor Arina... With her pitiful picture....and horrid haircut....

If someone would just see beyond.... THERE IS A PRECIOUS TREASURE JUST WAITING TO BE FOUND!!

$7,000.83 is available for Arina.

And Sergei

With his forever bruised face... This blond haired beauty has got a giggle and laugh in him... I just know it... He has $10,102.00 in his account just waiting for someone to say yes to him!!!

Yegor is in one of the EASIEST REGIONS in his country!!

Easy is GOOD and with $9,295.50 in his account..... THAT SHOULD MAKE IT EVEN EASIER!!

And then there is my Jack....

JACK....

Still looking out the window for his Mama.

Still looking.  Still wondering.  Please don't let Jack end up as a street kid....

He has $5,786.00.

And Robyn...

I thought for sure someone would have snatched her up by now but she still waits... She has $4,802.00 in her account.

Sorrowful Mark...

We were so thrilled a few weeks ago when it looked like he had been found but sadly... His family is MIA and he is available again....  I can't stand it!!  He has $4,190.00

And LOOK at this updated picture of DANILA!!

WHAT JOY!! She has $12,852.00 in her grant account.  COME ON!!

And Nikita...

Again... such a pitiful picture.... Could someone please look past his crossed little eyes and see the beautiful boy just waiting to emerge??

$4,900.00 is in his grant account!

And finally there is Paul... The little one who is always always last in line... All the treasures above are found on the SIZEABLE GRANT page of Reece's Rainbow....

Not Paul...

Poor little guy has $2,217.50.

Someone please go snatch him out of that crib!!

To the Moon and Back

Do you see this Chip-in???

This is the I'M BEGGING YOU Chip-in....

The Chip-in that allows the Spitz's family TO SEND THEIR DOSSIER OFF FOR APPROVAL to the USIC!!

TOMORROW!!

They have letters asking for expedited approval to get Lyla out of her crib and home in their arms.

Lyla has been fighting her entire life to stay alive.  She needs medical attention NOW!  To get expedited approval is HUGE.

But the Spitz's are seriously drained financially.  Run the numbers.... THREE SEPARATE ADOPTIONS IN A YEAR IS MIND-BOGGLING.  We are talking $70,000+ and that doesn't take into account time off from work etc. etc.

They are SO CLOSE to getting their baby girl!

THEY NEED US!!

I know I promised not to beg after the Mulligan Stew but the Spitz's are pretty desperate.

Desperate enough for Lyla's Papa to do this....

Desperate enough for Lyla's brothers to be willing to dress up as girls and walk the town... Yes you read that right... (Click HERE to read more)...

THEY LOVE THEIR LITTLE GIRL ACROSS THE OCEAN.

THEY LOVE HER!! THEY LOVE HER TO THE MOON AND BACK....  That is what they named their blog when they first committed to Lyla.  And the reality - they have just about traveled to the moon and back to get that baby in their arms.

Will you step up and help them?  Support them?

Their greatest need right now is for the USCIS costs to be covered so they can send their dossier out TOMORROW.  That is why I put the chip-in on here.  The money in their grant account through RR is not accessible until they travel so even though 11,000 has been raised - they cannot use that money.

Could we PLEASE run their cup over.... Fill up their chip-in and then some???  Provide this dear faithful family some cushion??? Get them fully funded?

I hate to beg but I'm begging.

Help them love their Lyla to the Moon and Back!!

Please - fuel their trip to the moon.... Fill up the Chip-in above AND go fill up their grant account.

All I Want

I turn 50 this week.

50.

It didn't bother me to turn 40 or 30 or 20.  I took all of those birthdays in stride.

But 50 bothers me.

I'm feeling old.

Last year for my birthday I had people donate to a whole host of families who were adopting and then tell me so that I could celebrate....  It it interesting to look back and see what happened to all those kids and families.  Almost all of those precious treasures are home with their families.  PRAISE THE LORD!!  Sadly, one of them is still stuck across the ocean because laws changed and she wasn't on the new special needs list.  Dear Lord.

Honestly - this year - All I want for my birthday is for Laurel to have a family.

My heart caved in a bit on Monday when I received the news that Harmony is no longer available for adoption.  Her country took her off the registers because of her age.  Her only chance for adoption is for a domestic adoption.  Dear Lord. I know that in her country they take good care of their older kids.  She isn't destined for a mental institute like Aaron's.  And in that I have some peace.  But still.  We fought hard for her.  Into the Lord's hands we commit her.  He has loved her a lot longer than us and the prayers raised on her behalf have not fallen on deaf ears.  This side of heaven we may never where Harmony ends up  but I am at peace that the Lord has a plan for this precious treasure and I can't wait to hear the rest of her story.

But Laurel isn't in a country that values their special ones.  Where she is headed is a place of no return.  And  because of that - I just can't rest.

SHE NEEDS A FAMILY.

She faces a lifetime sentence inside a building where people sit and stare at the walls all day.  She is a cognitively normal girl who has a physical disability.  Dear Lord.  Please.

Her time is running out!!!

That is what I want for my 50th birthday.

Laurel to have a family.

On my knees before the throne.

I need to go get some tissues.

Love Calls Families

Love calls families across the ocean.

Love for their babes who are lost and alone and in need.

Love causes them to do whatever it takes.

Sacrificing all to bring their little one home.

Love calls families across the ocean.

It causes them to do whatever it takes.

Even if it means getting their heads shaved.

????

YEP...

You read that correctly.

This Papa, who has already crossed the ocean TWO TIMES to bring home two precious treasures, is willing to have his head shaved into a mohawk for HIS DAUGHTER who is laying in a crib across the ocean.

WHATEVER IT TAKES.

That's love.

Want to see?

Want to see the love this Papa has for his third PRECIOUS TREASURE??

Want to see?

Help the Spitz's get their grant fund to 11,000 and Lyla's Papa is going to demonstrate a Father's love for his daughter.

CLICK HERE TO READ MORE... (and see what happened when the fund reached 10,000.00 - Go Sarah)

And seriously people - Can we just get their fund to the full 15,000.00 so that the Spitz's don't have to worry anymore about finances???

Shoveling Out

AAAAAAWWWWW!!!!!!

What happens when you leave FOUR male species alone in a house for FIVE DAYS AND FOUR SWEEPS???

Not smart.  Not smart.

JUST NOT SMART AT ALL!!!

If it seems like I have fallen off the map with this  blog for a few days...

It is because I am trying to muck my way through the disaster in my house!!

AAAAAAWWWWW!!!!!!

Rise Up!

I wish I had the means to tell you Lyla's story properly, but I'm here at the homeschooling convention in Tennessee with little time to write and lousy internet access.

I wish I had a better way to tell you why my eyes well up with tears each time I see this little girl's picture...

Sweet Lyla.

Her complicated story involves a lot of twists and turns.  It is a story worth telling, and I really wish I had a better way to tell it.

Suffice it to say that Lyla has a family who has loved her with the deepest of loves for almost two years.  They chose Lyla to be their daughter out of ALL the children on Reece's Rainbow - the child of their hearts.  They started the process to adopt her; but before they could finish their paperwork and cross the ocean, the authorities told them that she was no longer available for adoption.  Lyla was too sick to be adopted, and she was going to die.

Stricken with grief, but still obedient to the Father's call, Lyla's family chose to cross the ocean anyway and adopt a different child.

Longing for Lyla, but unable to carry her home, they chose to rescue Belle instead.

Sweet Belle helped soften their heartache over poor, lost little Lyla.

But in the meantime, something unexpected happened: Lyla survived.

Uknown to her family, Lyla was still clinging to life.  She was determined to live, and live she did.
The authorities neglected to share this news with the Spitzes. So, when they felt God call them to go back and bring home another child, they chose Gavin.

And Gavin was an AMAZING choice - a perfect fit for their family.

Only after they were committed to Gavin did they discover that LYLA WAS ALIVE, AND THAT SHE WAS ONCE AGAIN AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.

What to do?  At the time, the authorities had only approved the Spitzes for one child. They were committed to Gavin, not to Lyla.  They couldn't leave Gavin behind.  What could they do?

After much prayer, they decided to go adopt Gavin, then work and pray hard to find another family to adopt Lyla.

Soon enough, another family stepped forward to adopt Lyla, and all was well.  Their baby girl was going home - not with them, but with another loving family.

It so happened that Gavin and Lyla shared the same baby house. During their trip to adopt Gavin, they got a chance to meet Lyla in person for the first time-- to hold her, to kiss her, and to whisper in her ears that a family was coming for her.

Then came yet another twist: As it turned out, Lyla's new family couldn't complete her adoption, and poor Lyla was looking for a family all over again.

When that happened, LYLA'S FIRST FAMILY - THE SPITZES - THE FAMILY WHO LOVED HER FROM THE BEGINNING - rasied their hands and said to the Lord, "Send us. We want this child. She is ours."

They obediently and graciously stepped up to claim their baby girl.

Unfortunately, the difficult economic reality is that they have just completed two enormously expensive international adoptions.

The cliff from which they just jumped on their way to bring home a third child is a high, steep one.

They honestly need help; and today, I am begging you to help them.

This baby girl needs to go home.  She needs her Mama.

The Spitzes have wanted her from the first.  Her story led them to bring home TWO OTHER CHILDREN.  Because of their loyalty to Lyla, THREE ORPHANS HAVE FOUND HOMES.

But they need help.

There is a Giveaway going for the Spitzes. It ends today, and if you donate today, you can still enter; but honestly, WE OWE THIS FAMILY OUR SUPPORT WITH OR WITHOUT A GIVEAWAY!!

They need over $9,000.00 to bring their Lyla home.

God's handwriting is all over the adoption of these three babes, and the Body of Christ needs to acknowledge that by supporting this family.  Giveaways or not.  We need to help them.

You can CLICK HERE to make a donation.

Stand with them as they go get their babe.  Pray for them as they step out in faith for the third time in a year. Support them with gifts as they step off of this cliff.

Gathering..

“‘For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.

As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep.

I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.

I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land.

I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.

I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land.

There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.

I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign LORD.

I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy.

I will shepherd the flock with justice. (Ezekiel 34)

Tennessee Bound

The last time I was in Tennessee... I was in college.

That is a LONG time ago.

I hit the road tomorrow for the 12+ hour trip out west.

If anyone is going to the Homeschooling Convention at the Cook Center in Memphis - PLEASE STOP BY MY BOOTH!!

We're the booth with the new portable foam flooring so I won't have to stand on hard concrete for 3 days!!

Woo Hoo!!!

Aaron has my timetable all figured out... Mama is going to be gone for 5 days and 4 sweeps.

As far as I'm concerned.... It is five days and 4 sweeps too many!!
